The centre is walkable but chaotic for driving; taxis and the FreeNow app work well. Metro Linea 1 and the Circumvesuviana rail line reach Pompeii, and ferries from the port serve Capri, Ischia and Sorrento. Car rental is only for those comfortable with dense Italian traffic.
