Prague features an extensive public transport network operated by DPP, including metro, tram, and bus lines. The network is efficient and covers all major tourist areas. Most Jewish historical sites, kosher dining venues, and active synagogues are concentrated within the Josefov district and adjacent Old Town neighborhoods. Walking is the primary and most convenient mode of transport within this compact area. Public transit requires valid tickets, which must be stamped in electronic validation machines upon entering stations or vehicles. Because electronic validation and digital ticketing violate Shabbat restrictions, Orthodox travelers should plan to walk during Shabbat. There is no communal Eruv in Prague, so carrying objects outside private domains on Shabbat is not permitted.
